  • Specialty Procedure Cancellation Policy

    Due to an increasing number of cancellations and no-shows for specialist procedures, we are asking our clients to read the following information about our cancellation and no-show policy.

  • Specialist Procedures

    A specialist procedure is any exam, surgery, or service that is provided by veterinary specialists who are not part of our regular medical team but perform these services on site at Alto Tiburon. Some examples would include diagnostic radiology, orthopedic specialists and surgeons, endoscopy, cardiology, and various non-elective surgeries.

    These medical professionals travel a significant distance to help animals at our hospital, and we schedule additional staff and often must purchase extra supplies for many procedures. In addition, when a procedure with a mobile specialist is canceled with late or no notice, it means a missed opportunity to help a pet at another facility.

  • Cancellation/No-Show Policy
    • When you book a specialist appointment, we now require a deposit of 50% of the total cost of the procedure. This will help us offset the cost we are charged by the specialist when a client cancels or does not show up for a procedure.
    • Cancellations must be made a minimum of 48 hours in advance. This will give the specialist a chance to free up their schedule so they can help other waiting pet patients at other hospitals. You will be given a full refund of your deposit if you cancel your appointment 48 hours in advance or more.
    • If you cancel with less than 48 hours’ notice, your deposit will not be refunded.

    Surgery & Specialty Procedure Cancellation Policy

    Due to an increasing number of cancellations and no-shows for routine anesthetic procdures (spays, neuters, dentals, etc.) and specialist procedures, we are asking our clients to read the following information about our cancellation and no-show policy. Once you have read the information and policies, please acknowledge by electronically signing and dating this form below.

    Our goal is to help as many pets as possible, and by implementing this policy we hope to avoid the waste of time, labor, and supplies associated with short-notice cancellations and no-shows. We appreciate your understanding and invite you to contact us if you have questions.

  • Cancellation/No-Show Policy (non-orthopedic procedures)

    • When booking a specialist appointment, we require a deposit of 50% of the high end of the procedure estimate. This helps us offset the cost we are charged by the specialist if a client cancels last-minute or does not show up for a procedure.
    • Cancellations must be made a minimum of 48 hours in advance for non-orthopedic procedures.
    • You will be given a full refund of your deposit if you cancel your appointment 48 hours in advance or more.
    • If you cancel with less than 48 hours’ notice, the full amount of your deposit will be forfeited.

  • Cancellation/No-Show Policy (orthopedic procedures)

    • When booking an orthopedic specialist appointment, we require a deposit of 50% of the high end of the procedure estimate. This helps us offset the cost we are charged by the specialist if a client cancels late or does not show up for a procedure.
    • Cancellations must be made a minimum of one week in advance for orthopedic procedures.
    • You will be given a full refund of your deposit if you cancel your appointment one week in advance or more.
    • If you cancel with less than one weeks’ notice, the full amount of your deposit will be forfeited.

  • Cancellation/No-Show Policy (non-specialty procedures)

    • When booking a procedure, we require a deposit of 50% of the high end of the procedure estimate.
    • Cancellations must be made a minimum of 48 hours in advance.
    • You will be given a full refund of your deposit if you cancel your appointment 48 hours in advance or more.
    • If you cancel with less than 48 hours’ notice, your full deposit will be forfeited.
